Srinagar, Mar. 27: Despite government claims of developing Srinagar as a smart city, many parts of the city remain riddled with potholes, causing inconvenience to its residents.
Under the Smart City Project, Srinagar has been dug up in several areas, with even brief rainfall turning localities into pools. Despite assurances from authorities, there has been little progress in improving the lives of Srinagar’s residents.
According to locals, major roads in the city have been dug up by authorities for a long time, causing great inconvenience to people. However, the SMC Commissioner has stated that major projects, including the city’s roads, will soon be completed. He added that people may face some issues for a while, but after two months, most projects will be completed, and the situation will improve.
Like other parts of the city, residents of the Parimpora area complain of potholes at the local bus stand, which become a major issue after rain. Drivers at the bus stand say that they have repeatedly informed the administration of the issue, but it has been ignored, causing damage to their vehicles and inconvenience to passengers.
