To promote academic collaboration, SKUAST-K signs MoU with University of Guelph, Canada

Srinagar, Feb 27: SKUAST Kashmir and University of Guelph (UoG), Canada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic collaboration and establish a pathway for joint research and student exchanges.
The MoU was signed by the Vice-Chancellor of SKUAST Kashmir, Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, and the President & Vice-Chancellor of UoG, Dr. Charlotte Yates, in New Delhi.
The collaboration between the two institutions will focus on joint degrees, faculty exchanges for teaching and research, joint research, seminars and conferences, visiting faculty and staff, and academic student exchanges.
Dr. Charlotte Yates said that this collaboration would expose students and faculty to more advanced research facilities available at UoG.
She further added that the partnership would open doors for international exposure to students and faculty, allowing them to learn and share knowledge with peers from different countries.
On the occasion, Dr. Ganai spoke about the potential for innovation in Kashmir and the opportunity for UoG students and faculty to benefit from the collaboration.
The ceremony was attended by officials from both institutions, including Dr. M. N. Khan, Director of Education; Dr. Sarfaraz A. Wani, Director of Research, and Dr. T. H. Masoodi, Registrar, from SKUAST Kashmir. Daniel Atlin, Vice President (External); Dr. Stuart McCook, Assistant Vice-President International, and Ms. Maria Mathai, India Advisor, were from UoG.
Daniel Atlin commended the efforts of Dr. Asim Biswas, Associate professor, UoG and Dr. Shabir Bangroo in initiating the proposal for collaboration.
The MoU signing between SKUAST Kashmir and UoG, Canada is expected to promote academic collaboration and provide opportunities for students and faculty to explore research opportunities in different countries.
