Srinagar, Mar 14: The Department of Horticulture District Srinagar organized One day Training-cum-exposure visit of farmers within the State under ATMA scheme today on Tuesday to Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH) Rangreth Srinagar.
The programme was flagged off by Worthy Director Horticulture Kashmir Ghulam Rasool Mir (JKAS) in presence of Chief Horticulture Officer, Srinagar V.K Gupta and District Horticulture Officer Srinagar Sheikh Iftikhar Hussain. The orchardists were accompanied by DL-SMS Srinagar Saima Hameed and Horticulture Development Officer Zakura Mohammad Maqbool Pandith.
More than 20 orchardists participated in the said programme. The Director Horticulture Kashmir distributed spray schedules and posters among the participants and stressed on the use of recommended pesticide/insecticides only. At CITH, the orchardists were joined by senior scientists of the institute and were provided training/awareness regarding latest models of Ultra High-Density Plantations and various ongoing horticultural activities at this time.
