Srinagar, July 24: In the picturesque landscapes of northern Kashmir lies the enchanting Keran Valley, a paradise that has undergone a remarkable transformation, opening its arms to travellers from all corners of India.
Once shrouded in security concerns, Keran now stands as a flourishing tourist destination, captivating the hearts of all who visit.
With the government’s decision to open up border tourism, the valley has flourished, attracting tourists with its mesmerizing beauty. The lush green meadows and the shimmering Kishenganga River weaving through the valley offer a sight that seems straight out of a dream. It is no wonder that travellers like Irshad Ahmad find solace and enchantment in the embrace of Keran’s natural splendor.
As Keran opens its doors to the world, it has not only unlocked the door to its captivating beauty but also opened the gates of opportunity for its local people. The surge in visitors has created job opportunities that have brought joy and prosperity to the area. The locals are thrilled to welcome visitors with open arms, sharing their warm hospitality and unique way of life.
The local administration has been instrumental in fostering this transformation, taking active measures to encourage tourism and uplift the livelihoods of the local population. Danish Bhat’s  appreciation for these efforts reflects the positive impact on the locals, who now thrive by offering comfortable homestays to the eager visitors.
For adventure enthusiasts like Hilal Ahmad, Keran’s ascent as a tourist hub is a dream come true. The valley’s pristine environment provides the perfect setting for thrilling activities like river rafting, hiking, and paragliding, making it an ideal destination for those seeking an adrenaline rush.
However, it is not just the adventure seekers who find themselves drawn to Keran. The valley’s rich cultural heritage and delectable local delicacies add a touch of authenticity to the whole experience, offering tourists a chance to immerse themselves fully in the vibrant local culture.
In embracing its transformation as a tourist hub, Keran has also taken a responsible approach to preserve its natural beauty. The focus on sustainable tourism practices ensures that the valley’s allure remains intact for generations to come. This dedication to preserving the environment highlights the valley’s commitment to being a responsible custodian of its natural treasures.
Yet, amidst all the success, the people have a humble plea to the administration – to expedite the process of e-passes. As the number of tourists grows, streamlining the pass system will ensure that travellers can access the valley seamlessly, adding to their positive experience.
