Ladakh’s MehdiNaseri has created a history by becoming the winner of India’s 1st ever Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) reality series – ‘Kumite1 Warrior Hunt’ that was held in Mumbai this year. Mehdi shared the win in the competition with two other contestants of the show Monika Ghag, and NeitsoAngami.
Hailing from the Union territory of Ladakh MehdiNaseri said that the competition was tough through out the series and kept the audiences guessing till the end of the show wherein three of the competitors emerged as the Champions of India’s first-ever MMA reality series ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt,’
” After weeks of intense battles,and hectic efforts we three MMA champions have proven our strength, skill, and determination to rise to the top,” MehdiNaseri said.
While talking to Rising Kashmir, Mehdi said, “I participated in this show only to send a message that athletes from Ladakhdo not lag behind and are as good and competitive as the athletes from any other places of the country.”
“I gave it all from my side to the show wherein the training and guidance i received was fantastic. I would like to thanks to Team Toyam Sports and our host, Suniel Shetty for all that i endured during the show,” Mehdi said.
while recollecting the overwhelming response and love from the audiences, Mehdi said, “My phone hasn’t stopped ringing after we went live on India’s No 1 platform, MX Player, with congratulations pouring in from so many known & unknown people. This is a step in putting MMA athletes from India in the spotlight.”
Streaming exclusively on MX Player, the platform announced on Tuesday Monika Ghag, MehdiNasieri and NeitsoAngami were the champions of Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt as reality show that was launched in association with Toyam Sports.
Meanwhile the Champions of ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ received a cash prize of USD 5000 along with an exclusive 3-year contract from Toyam Sports Ltd. The winners will now represent India on a global stage, raising the bar for the sport and inspiring the next generation of martial artists.
The winners w will be trained Internationally with the best athletes. The team of the three shall represent ‘Team India’ in ‘K 1 Asian Championship’ in mid-2023 in UAE.
Mehdi A.K.A “Notorious” Nasiri stood apart from other Champions for his grit and fierce fights despite not having the advantage of adequate training facilities in suitable weather conditions in Ladakh.
On the conclusion of the show , the host Suniel Shetty while congratulating the winners said, “Congratulations to the winners of India’s first-ever MMA reality series Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt – Monika Ghag, MehdiNasiri and NeitsoAngami.
