Budgam, June 14: The fire and emergency department of Jammu and Kashmir has inaugurated a fully functional fire station in Khag tehsil, located in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. The newly established facility aims to provide prompt response and assistance to the residents of Khag and its surrounding villages.
Previously, on May 21st, an article published in Rising Kashmir shed light on the non-functional state of the fire station in the area. However, following swift action by the authorities, the fire station has now been officially opened for operations.
Tawseef Hussain Dar, the Assistant Director of Fire and Emergency Services in Budgam district, confirmed the inauguration of the fire station. The Director of Fire and Emergency Services, Alok Kumar, presided over the ceremony and declared the building operational. The fire station is equipped with essential infrastructure, including power connections, fire services vehicles, and necessary equipment.
“The new fire station in Khag Tehsil will be operational round the clock, providing relief and assistance to the people in need,” stated Tawseef Hussain Dar. He emphasized that the fire station will serve all 36 villages falling under the jurisdiction of Khag tehsil. In case of emergencies, residents of Khag tehsil and the nearby villages are encouraged to contact the fire station in Khag, enabling rapid response to any crisis situation.
The establishment of this fire station brings a renewed sense of security to the residents, who can now rely on timely firefighting services. With the availability of trained personnel and well-equipped facilities, the fire station is poised to mitigate potential fire hazards and offer vital assistance during emergencies.
This development marks a significant step forward in enhancing the safety infrastructure of Budgam district, ensuring the well-being of its residents. The operational fire station is expected to make a tangible difference in safeguarding lives and properties, bolstering the overall resilience of the region
