A double-storey residential house in Takyabal area of Krankshivan colony, Sopore town, was completely gutted in a massive fire that broke out on Wednesday afternoon.
According to fire and emergency service Sopore official, a double storey house gutted in the massive fire incident.
“The first floor of the house gutted completely. The operation is still going,” he added.
However locals alleged that it took the fire department nearly an hour to reach the location.
“By the time the fire and emergency officials arrived, the house had already been reduced to ashes,” a local said.
Mohd Akbar, a Fire and Emergency Official, confirmed that they received the distress call at 4:10 pm and promptly dispatched teams to combat the blaze.
“The operation to extinguish any remaining embers is still ongoing. The cause of fire and identification of the house owner is yet to be confirmed,” he said.
