Srinagar, Feb 4: BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir chiefRavinderRaina on Monday said with the love and support of the people in Kashmir, BJP will secure a thumping majority in the upcoming Parliamentary elections and will win all five LokSabha seats in the region.
Addressing the presser in Srinagar at party headquarters, Raina urged people in Kashmir to join the big rally on March 7 at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, where PM Modi will speak to a large crowd. “We are expecting 2 lakh people at the rally and people of Kashmir will come because the world is watching PM Modi’s visit,” he added.
“The diverse representation expected at the rally, including communities such as GujjarBakarwals, Pahari, Hanjis, Telis, Chopans, Hajams, and over 40 sub-castes allegedly marginalized by previous administrations,” Raina said. He drew parallels with successful rallies in the past, citing Vajpayee’s 2003 Srinagar event and Modi’s 2015 rally at SK Stadium.
Praising the Prime Minister for his efforts in Kashmir, Raina said PM Modi has done a lot for the development of Jammu & Kashmir. “Wecan sense this peace, happiness, brotherhood, and love in the Kashmir Valley. All of this is a gift from Prime Minister Modi,” he said.
Raina said that on March 07, the world will see a massive gathering of people at Bakshi Stadium in Kashmir. New chapters in the development of the Kashmir Valley have been written by PM Modi, he said.
“There has been an increase in tourism, visits by Bollywood stars and international cricketers, and the hosting of international summits as a result of Modi’s initiatives,” he said.
Raina also praised the youth of Kashmir for proudly holding the tricolor and making a name for themselves globally. He said BJP’s flag is now in every household in the Kashmir valley, and more and more people are joining the party.
“BJP has become the biggest party in Jammu & Kashmir, and PM Modi has worked for a bright future for the youth in the region,” he said.
Raina said that the party would not need even a post-poll alliance as it will sweep the elections in the Union territory.
“The BJP is ready to contest all five seats in Jammu and Kashmir. We will contest the LokSabha polls on our own. When the Election Commission announces the assembly elections (for Jammu and Kashmir), we will contest on our own,” he said.
Raina said that Modi’s arrival in Kashmir in 2014 had given a ray of hope to the flood victims. He announced a development package of Rs 80,000 crore. It was because of that package that Kashmir was able to come out of the problems,” he said, adding that Kashmir is passing through a prosperous and peaceful phase.
About restoration of Statehood, Raina said that any announcements would be revealed during the rally, and the people will get to know about them then.
Meanwhile, ahead of PM Modi’s visit to Kashmir, BJP leaders are busy decorating the city of Srinagar with thousands of party flags.
BJP Spokesman Altaf Thakur told Rising Kashmir that the goal is to embellish the city with an impressive display of 10,000 flags as part of the preparations to extend a warm welcome to Prime Minister Modi.
