Jammu, July 15: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) celebrated its glorious 49th annual day on its foundation day on Saturday, July 15, across the country at various offices and locations. On the occasion, an event was organized at The HPCL Depot behind Railway Station Jammu, which was for all the employees and their workers to participate in person.
“This year’s occasion has been more significant as HPCL Depot behind Railway Station Jammu in collaboration with NGO SUPPORT organised a volunteer blood donation camp in its HPCL Depot with the team of doctors from the Department of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology, Red Cross Society, ISBTI, Young Blood Association and NGO SUPPORT,” the corporation said in a press release.
During the event, HPCL Farooq Hussain Shah Ch Depot Manager, Plant Safety Officer Abhiseikh organised a program within their premises. A team of doctors from the GMC, Red Cross Society, ISBTI, Young Blood Association and NGO SUPPORT were headed by Dr Navneet Kour, founder Chairperson of NGO SUPPORT, Secretary General ISBTI J&K Chapter & President YBA, Dr Deepsikha from Blood Bank SMGS, Farooq Hussain Shah, Ch Depot Manager and Abhishek administered the foundation day pledge with the employees for continual commitment towards the growth of the corporation.
Subsequently, Farooq Hussain Shah addressed the employees highlighting past performance and outlook for the future and congratulated all the employees and various stakeholders for their dedication and commitment to ensure that HPCL achieved outstanding results and remain steadfast on the path of accelerated growth.
A plantation drive was initiated there within the premises and plants were planted by Shah, Abhishek, Dr Navneet Kour, Dr Deepsikha and other officers and employees of HPCL Jammu.
An on-the-spot painting competition was done with the children of the Balgrain an orphan home at Channi Rama. Sweets and prizes were given to the children of the home by Farooq Hussain Shah and Abhishek.
Shah, Dr Navneet Kour and Dr Deepsikha & Abhishek distributed the awards and certificates to the volunteer donors and the winners on behalf of NGO SUPPORT, ISBTI, Young Blood Association and Indian Red Cross Society. A memento was presented to Farooq Hussain Shah and Abhishekh by NGO SUPPORT. The certificates were given by Anil K Padha Je Founder of Young Blood Association with Dr Kour.
Dr Navneet Kaur founder and Chairperson of NGO SUPPORT said, “Lifesaving blood donations remain essential for hospital patients in need of emergency and medical care that can’t wait.”
Dr Deepsikha highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donations and gave them an awareness of its benefits and high requirement in our hospitals. Shah thanked all the employees, workers of the plant and their staff for going beyond the call of duty to serve the people during this time. The celebration was followed by cutting the cake and distributing the sweets to all those who were present there. Abhishek organised the event very well and extended his congratulations to all.
