Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have arrested 05 persons and seized as many vehicles in Baramulla.
A Spokesperson said that a police party of PS Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg seized 03 vehicles (02 tippers & 01 tractor) and arrested 03 persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Shrai Tangmarg. They have been identified as Riaz Ahmad Khan son of Ab Rashid Khan resident of Gutlipora, Shabir Ahead Chopan son of Habibullah Chopan resident of Ganiwani & Ashiq Hussain son of Mohd Arshid Kokhar resident of Check Traren.
Moreover, a police party of PP Mirgund under the supervision of SDPO Pattan seized an excavator, 02 tippers and arrested 02 persons for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Kanisuth Mirgund. They have been identified as Ab Hameed Guroo son of Mohd Ramzan Guroo & Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Yousuf Dar, both residents of Bakshipora Parimpora Srinagar.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and further investigations have been initiated.
