Srinagar, Feb 21: SSP Awantipora Mohd Yousif while chairing a crime and security review meeting at District Police Lines Awantipora, urged the officers to make all possible efforts in the fight against the menace of drugs and work dedicatedly to prevent social and cyber crimes.
During the meeting, which was attended by all SDPOs, DySP DAR, SHOs and Incharge PPs of Police District Awantipora, the disposal of pending UAPA cases, security of vulnerable persons and other aspects of policing including verifications, disposal of NDPS, inquest proceedings, and other issues related to accountable policing were discussed.
The participating officers briefed SSP Awantipora about the security scenario in their respective areas and the security measures being adopted to counter the challenges. He directed the participating officers to remain extra-vigilant, strengthen nakas/checkpoints, and generate actionable intelligence so that the nefarious designs of anti-national elements can be thwarted.
SSP Awantipora emphasized upon the officers to maintain the synergy and better coordination with other security forces working on the ground in order to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in the Police district. All officers were instructed to adopt a public-centric approach and to ensure the redressal of their grievances.
