Kulgam, Oct 18: Member of Parliament and senior leader of the National Conference (NC), Justice (retd) Husnain Masoodi on Wednesday inaugurated healthcare equipment at the Primary Health Centre in Kulgam.
“My focus has always been on healthcare, safe drinking water, and electricity. During my visit to this hospital, I was briefed about the challenges the people face,” Masoodi told reporters here.
He said that in total, he has allocated five crore rupees for healthcare across four districts. For this specific hospital, we allocated funds based on the doctors’ recommendations for essential equipment, he said and expressed satisfaction that the installed equipment had improved patient care efficiency, benefiting the local community.
On the occasion, Masoodi denounced the ongoing situation in Gaza as “genocide” while calling for restoring rights to the people of Palestine. He condemned the actions of Israel, labelling them as clear acts of genocide. He lamented the support Israel receives from Western powers and highlighted the “longstanding oppression” faced by the people of Palestine.
Masoodi underscored India’s consistent support for Palestine, both in terms of voting in favour of Palestine in UN resolutions and advocating for their rights on international platforms.
He said Palestinians must be given their rights and allowed to establish their own state, citing numerous UN resolutions that support this cause.
Reflecting on local politics, he drew lessons from Kargil and predicted a significant challenge for the BJP in the future elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
