Baramulla, May 13: A man was wounded on Saturday after being attacked by a leopard in the Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A wildlife official told Rising Kashmir that a man was injured by a leopard in the Athoora Kreeri area of Baramulla. He said the victim, Ghulam Haider Pandit, was outside his residence when he was attacked by the wild animal.
Pandit was rescued and immediately taken to a nearby hospital by locals for treatment, he said.
The Wildlife officials have urged the residents to stay vigilant and report any sighting of the big cat to the authorities.
The local residents said that despite efforts to mitigate the problem, such incidents continue to occur, posing a threat to both humans and well as domestic animals.
