New Delhi, Aug 17: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Thursday hailed the Member Parliament and distinguished lawyer Kabil Sibal for defending Article 370 in the Supreme Court.
According to a DPAP statement, Azad met Sibal in New Delhi and had a one-hour-long meeting to discuss the issue. Azad, according to the statement, told Sibal, “You presented the case of Article 370 very articulately, you were roaring like a lion.”
Maintaining that he is hopeful of a positive outcome from the Supreme Court, the DPAP chief said that whatever the arguments Sibal presented in the court were representing the emotions and aspirations of the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Mr Sibal became the voice of voiceless people who were snatched of their political rights. I am hopeful now Supreme Court will do the justice with the people of UT and return their rights back with dignity,” he said. Azad said his fight to secure the “political and economic rights” of the people of the UT will continue.
