Baramulla, May 31: A 24-year-old girl lost her life in a hit-and-run incident on Wednesday afternoon at the Baramulla- Srinagar National Highway near TCP Palhallan area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to a police official, a speeding vehicle hit the girl near TCP in Palhallan area of Pattan.
“Shockingly, instead of providing immediate medical assistance and aid, the driver hastily fled the scene, leaving the injured girl unattended,” the police official said.
The local residents rushed to the location and promptly transported the injured girl to the nearby Trauma Hospital in Pattan where the doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
The authorities identified the deceased as Insha Gul, daughter of Late Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Nillah Palhallan area in Pattan.
Consequently, the local police have registered a case regarding the hit-and-run incident and initiated a thorough investigation to locate the vehicle and apprehend the responsible driver.
