Bandipora, Aug 06: Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Kashmir, Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai on Sunday said the university has entered into an agreement with PepsiCo India Ltd to provide marketing support to potato growers of the valley.
He was speaking while laying the foundation stone of KVK Bandipora–II (Gurez) at Dawar Gurez on the second day of his two-day visit to the area.
The VC on the occasion informed that KVK Gurez is the second KVK of district Bandipora which caters to the diverse needs of the people engaged in agriculture and allied sectors. It also organises awareness and training programmes for the youth, he said.
On the occasion, the Director Extension informed about various activities of KVKs for the socio-economic upliftment of the farming community.
Earlier, the VC presided over a mega input distribution programme conducted by NSP SKUAST-K Shalimar at MAR&ES Izmarg.
The VC was accompanied by Director Extension, Prof Dil Mohammad Makdoomi, Director Research, Prof Tariq Hussain Masoodi, Director Planning & Monitoring Prof Haroon Naik, Director Finance, Manzoor Ahmad Wani and the heads of all KVKs of the valley. SDM Gurez, Dr M A Wani was also present.
