Srinagar, Aug 20: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Larrow area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday late evening, police said.
Taking to the micro-blogging site X, Kashmir Zone Police wrote, “Encounter has started in Larrow-Parigam area of Pulwama. Police and Security Forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
A police officer also confirmed that the encounter was underway. He said based on specific inputs, a Cordon and Search Operation was launched. After the cordon was laid by the security forces, the hiding terrorists fired upon joint forces, triggering the encounter, he added.
