Srinagar, Dec 11: The Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, J&K is all set to offer residential coaching for the IIT & NEET 2024 exams to students currently enrolled in Class 12 of government schools in Jammu and Kashmir. This coaching programme is specifically for students from economically weaker sections (EWS) and the top performers in each district.
Deep Raja, the Project Director for Samagra Shiksha, J&K told Rising Kashmir that coaching will be conducted as a crash course for approximately 3 months, starting from December 20, 2023.
“The coaching will be provided by renowned registered institutes in Jammu and Srinagar. Students enrolled in the program will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 9000 for three months through the DBT mode, covering their food, accommodation charges, and stationary and books, etc. Additionally, the course fee of the institute will be covered by Samagra Shiksha, J&K,” Deep Raj said.
Project Director said that in each district of the Union Territory, a total of 10 students, comprising 5 boys and 5 girls, from the Economically Weaker Sections will get enrolled in the programme. The selection will be based on their merit in the 10th academic examination within the district, he said, adding that the selection of these 10 students from each will be carried out by the concerned Chief Educational Officers in their districts respectively.
