A heart-wrenching yet awe-inspiring incident unfolded in Kupwara, in North Kashmir, as a courageous woman defied all odds to give birth to quadruplets on Monday. This extraordinary event, however, was marked by a mixture of joy and tragedy, as three of the newborns lost their lives shortly after their birth.
The four newborns, consisting of three boys and one girl, arrived prematurely, in the 28th week of the pregnancy. This early arrival made their already delicate situation even more challenging, as premature babies often require intensive medical care to thrive.
The woman, who exhibited incredible strength throughout her pregnancy, began experiencing labor pains, prompting an urgent referral from the Primary Health Center (PHC) in Keran to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Kupwara for immediate medical attention.
While this heartbreaking event has left a community in mourning, it’s vital to note that the woman who gave birth to these quadruplets is in a stable condition. Her resilience and determination to bring her babies into the world under such challenging circumstances are truly commendable, shining a light on the strength of mothers everywhere.
