Jammu, Jan 26: Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Friday unfurled the tricolour and recognized the exemplary contributions of the best-performing employees over the past year.
The event, held at the Waqf Central Office in Jammu, was attended by Chief Executive Officer Dr Syed Majid Jehangir, Administrator Jammu Mudassir Iqbal, and Tehsildar of the Board for Jammu province Fareed Ahmad.
During the ceremony, Dr Andrabi presented a special award to Dr Majid Jehangir in acknowledgement of his significant contributions to the Board. In her address, she highlighted the significance of India’s democratic principles, emphasizing that the country’s Constitution reflects a deep-rooted belief in democracy and the equality of all citizens.
Paying homage to the Constitution makers, the Waqf Chairperson expressed gratitude for having one of the world’s best constitutions, which has shaped India’s value systems and democratic institutions. She praised the “visionary” leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the country has emerged as a global leader over the past decade.
“During the past ten years, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our country has emerged as a leader in modern world affairs. We are undoubtedly the Vishwaguru now and every citizen of India is part of this modern and exceptional growth story of India,” she said.
Dr Darakhshan added, “India is the only country on this globe with such diversity and it is like a beautiful garden of different varieties of flowers. India believes in harmony not because of any internal or external compulsion but because of the age-old tradition of this great land where diversity has always been respected and accepted. Let’s all unite to make this country the world leader in all spheres of life as envisioned by our honourable Prime Minister.”
