Srinagar, Oct 11: A delegation from the All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), led by Harmilan Kour and Manmeet Kour, on Wednesday met with the President of India here to address the “discrimination” faced by the Sikh minority community, both at the Central and State levels.
The APSCC in a statement issued here said that during the meeting, it submitted a memorandum highlighting the neglect and discrimination faced by the Sikh minority, particularly concerning the recommendations made by the Delimitation Commission and the J&K administration.
The delegation lodged a “strong complaint” that while two seats were reserved for Kashmiri Pandits, other minority communities like Sikhs were ignored, according to the statement.
The APSCC further said that the previous manipulations in various packages favoured Kashmiri Pandits while sidelining Sikhs. The Sikh delegation urged the President to address these concerns.
