Jammu, Feb 09: Following the directives of the party Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad, a delegation of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) leaders, headed by Chief Spokesperson Salman Nizami visited Sabzi Mandi Banihal to extend financial support to the victims of a recent fire incident in Banihal.
During the visit, Nizami presented a donation of one lakh cash on behalf of Chairman Azad and encouraged the affected individuals to compile a detailed list for additional assistance. “The gesture was made with a commitment to provide ongoing aid and ensure the protection of the livelihoods of the affected shopkeepers,” Nizami said according to a statement issued here.
Salman also called for compensation from the government and emphasized the need for a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the fire incident. The delegation expressed solidarity with the affected individuals and reaffirmed the party’s dedication to advocating for their rights and welfare.
The shopkeepers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Azad for championing their cause with the government, ensuring their non-displacement, and providing much-needed assistance, the statement said.
Among others present were Senior Vice Presidents Muneer Bhatt and Dr Asif Khanday, Zonal Youth President Alyas Banihali, Farooq Wani Block President, General Secretary Asghar Rasool, and others.
