DC Pulwama reviews preparation for celebration of UT Foundation Day/ Ekta Diwas

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom today conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations for the upcoming celebration of UT Foundation Day and ongoing Ekta week culminating on 31st October as Ekta Divas.

The review encompassed an assessment of activities that have been conducted by various departments from October 25th onwards, leading up to the grand celebration.

The forthcoming activities are set to unveil the remarkable transformation of Pulwama district through an array of engaging events, compendium on infrastructure Audio-visuals including art exhibitions, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledges, paintings, debates, and the ‘Run for Unity’.

Participants will have the opportunity to capture the essence of development by taking selfies with various completed projects and heritage sites. The event will also highlight the significant achievements of individual departments within the district.

In a bid to engage the entire community, the DC directed that these competitions will be conducted at multiple levels, including the District level, Subdivision level, Block level, and right down to the Panchayat level. This inclusive approach aims to encourage maximum participation and community involvement.

Furthermore, the DC emphasized the importance of converging Swachhta (cleanliness) activities with Ekta Diwas (Unity Day) events throughout the week-long celebration that commenced from October 25th and concluded on October 31st. This convergence will ensure that the celebration not only fosters unity and patriotism but also underscores the significance of cleanliness and community well-being in the District.

The week-long festivities will culminate in a grand event that celebrates unity, achievement, and the enduring spirit of Pulwama district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Pulwama, SP Awantipora, ADDC Pulwama, ADC Awantipora, ACR Pulwama, ACD Pulwama, ACP Pulwama and other District and Sectoral officers.
