Srinagar, Sep 15: The Division of Social Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-K concludes one-week training programme titled ” Changing contour of Research in a Digital era” on Friday at Rangil, Ganderbal.The programme began with an inaugural session in which the inaugural speech was delivered by Prof. Aquil Ahmad, Chairman, Dept of Statistics & O.R., AMU, Aligarh.
The guest of honour Prof. Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi, Former Dean, Social Science, CUK, J&K highlighted the role taled on general research aptitude and parameters of quality research. Dean, Faculty of Fisheries, Prof. F. A.Bhat welcomed the guests and in his welcome address he thanked Hon’ble V.C. SKUAST-K Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, his team, faculty members of FoFy, participants and students for taking part in this programme.
The organiser of Programme Prof. Bilal Ahmad Bhat in brief told the relation between artificial intelligence and statistics also gave details about programme. He further highlighted the significance of organizing such kind of programmes in academic institutions.
In this workshop, fourteen resource persons belongs to diverse disciplines of Social Sciences, Biological Science including Statistics, Mathematics, Fisheries Science and Veterinary Science delivered in the training program and provided training with regards to the different research methodological tools, modelling and statistical software’s.
Almost all-important themes were covered and necessary training was provided to the researchers.
The valedictory function was held in the Conference Hall of Faculty of Fisheries, SKUAST-K, both in online and offline which was attended by Prof. (Dr) Farooz A. Bhat, Dean FoFy, Aziz Ahmad Rather, Addl. Secretary Department of Commerce and Industries, GoJK, Dr. Tariq Abdullah, Senior Producer, EMRC, University of Kashmir, Prof. (Dr.) Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Head division of Social Sciences & organiser of the training programme along with, Heads of Divisions, Faculty members, participants of the training programme and students from Faculty of Fisheries.
Aziz Ahmad Rather, Addl. Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries, GoJK, gave an insight into the importance of water in our daily lives and correlated the same with the essence of leadership. He advised the participants to at least adopt one panchayat to learn the ecosystem which is very important to address the challenges faced by different stake holders of the society in general and nation in particular.
Dr. Tariq Abdullah, Senior Producer, EMRC, University of Kashmir, highlighted the importance of using different digital tools for analysing data which plays a pivotal role in expressing the findings of researcher. He congratulated honourable VC, Dean, Head and organiser of training programme for conducting this need-based training program to improve the efficiency of research work.
