Reasi, Aug 07: The annual Kousar Nag Yatra was ceremoniously flagged off today from Thappa Chowk, Reasi, amid religious fervour and spiritual enthusiasm. Member Legislative Assembly Reasi Kuldeep Raj Dubey and Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik jointly inaugurated the yatra in the presence of senior officials and devotees.A statement issued here said that the pilgrimage, which holds great religious significance, will culminate at the sacred Kousar Nag Lake in the Pir Panjal range. Devotees gathered early in the morning to begin their journey with traditional chants and rituals. The Deputy Commissioner extended her best wishes to the yatris and assured full administrative support for a safe and smooth pilgrimage. She said comprehensive arrangements have been made in coordination with departments for track repair, security, healthcare, sanitation, power, water, toilet facilities and transportation. She emphasised seamless coordination among the District Administration, Army, Police, SDRF, Health Department, PWD and local volunteers to facilitate the yatra. Prominent attendees included SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh, CPO Narinder Kumar, Additional SP Ifthikar Ahmed, Tehsildar Reasi Suresh Singh, senior officers and community members. The flag-off marked both a spiritual beginning and a reflection of the region’s cultural unity and heritage.
