Girls Rule the Kho-Kho Grounds: YSS Anantnag Hosts High-Energy Inter-Zonal Tournament

Srinagar, July 24: The Department of Youth Services & Sports (YSS), District Anantnag on Thursday successfully conducted the Inter-Zonal District Level Kho-Kho Tournament for Girls at the sports grounds of MS Bona Dailgam, witnessing spirited participation, skill, and sportsmanship from across the district.

Match results (day summary) 

Zone Anantnag beat Zone Qazigund by 1 innings & 2 points.

Zone Verinag edged Zone Mattan by 1 point — one of the day’s tightest finishes.

Zone Achabal defeated Zone Ashmuqam by 16 points & 1 innings.

Zone Bijbehara overcame Zone Doru by 4 points.

Zone Bidder beat Zone Shangus by 1 innings & 4 points.

As per a statement issued here, in the final fixture, Zone Achabal continued its dominant run, defeating Zone Anantnag by 1 innings and 2 points. The tournament provided a strong platform for young girls to demonstrate agility, tactical awareness, and competitive temperament in a supportive environment. YSS Anantnag reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing grassroots talent and promoting healthy competition among schoolchildren. The matches were conducted smoothly under the supervision of technical officials and zonal physical education staff. The Department extended gratitude to MS Bona Dailgam for its support and facilities.
