Rajouri, July 23: In a well-coordinated rescue operation, a 10-year-old boy was successfully saved from a flooded river in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir after being trapped due to a sudden rise in water levels following heavy rainfall.According to officials, the Indian Army, SDRF, Police, and local divers launched an urgent joint operation to rescue the minor who had been swept into the river by the rising waters. The Indian Army, with the assistance of its aviation wing, deployed a helicopter to airlift the trapped boy and bring him to safety.The timely information from the civil administration and seamless coordination among the rescue agencies were key in ensuring the child’s safe evacuation.Speaking to the media, senior officials from the Indian Army and SSP Rajouri emphasized that the rescue was a shared responsibility and praised the collaborative effort. “We are thankful to the civil administration for informing us in time. Our aviation team acted swiftly to rescue the minor,” they said.SSP Rajouri further added that the district administration had already issued an advisory urging people to stay away from riverbanks due to the forecast of heavy rainfall.
