Inter District UT Level Girls’ Baseball Tournament begins in Gbl

Srinagar, July 16: The Department of Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal Wednesday inaugurated the Inter District UT Level Baseball Tournament for Girls All Age Groups) of Kashmir Province at the Government College of Physical Education Gadoora, Ganderbal.TA statement issued here said that the event was formally declared open by Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Ganderbal, who presided over the inaugural ceremony. In his welcome address, DYSSO extended warm greetings to all the participating teams from across the Kashmir Province and expressed pride in hosting such prestigious UT-level events in District Ganderbal. As part of the opening ceremony, a Sports Pledge was administered to all student-athletes and officials, reinforcing the values of fair play, discipline, and true sportsmanship. The tournament began with spirited performances from various district teams in the Girls U14 category. After a competitive display of skill and determination, District Ganderbal and District Pulwama emerged as finalists. The title clash between the two will be held tomorrow. To ensure merit-based selections, expert selectors appointed by the department monitored performances throughout the matches.
