Baramulla, Nov 03: A 32-year-old lady was killed in a road accident in Sheeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
A police official said that Zahida Begum, wife of Mohammad Abbas Khan, a resident of Tathmulla Boniyar, was on her way to Sheeri from Baramulla.
The unfortunate incident occurred as Zahida, accompanied by her husband, was traveling on a two-wheeler.
Local shopkeepers said that upon reaching Sheeri Market, the rider lost control, resulting in a collision with a bus.
The impact caused Zahida, the pillion rider, to fall to the ground, rendering her unconscious.
Swiftly, the injured lady was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Police said that they have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
