Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Jammu Rifat Kohli today chaired a meeting with departmental officers and representatives of the Mutton Sellers Association and Poultry Association of Jammu to review the status of essential commodities—especially mutton and poultry products—ahead of the Eid-Ul-Azha festival.

The meeting, held in the Director’s Office Chamber, was attended by the Joint Director (Administration), Deputy Director (Supplies), Assistant Directors of Jammu City and Rural Circles, along with key representatives from both associations.

During the meeting, the Director emphasized ensuring that an adequate stock of livestock (sheep and goats) is available to meet public demand during the festival. She directed stakeholders to ensure that sacrificial sheep and goats are readily available at reasonable rates in the designated Mandis across the Jammu division.

Rifat Kohli further instructed the representatives of the Mutton and Poultry Associations to prominently display official rate lists at all retail outlets. She also directed departmental officers to carry out rigorous market inspections to enforce approved pricing and take strict action against defaulters.
