Srinagar, June 03: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed J&K, Anand Jain Tuesday visited the Armed Police Complex in Zewan in Srinagar to review the functioning of various units stationed there. He was accompanied by Junaid Mehmood, Deputy Inspector General (IRP) Kashmir, and Shahid Mehraj, Deputy Inspector General Armed Kashmir.
On arrival, ADGP Jain was accorded a ceremonial welcome and inspected the March Past presented by multiple contingents, including personnel undergoing special refresher courses. As part of the visit, Jain paid rich tributes at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial in Zewan, honouring the brave personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Several key facilities were inaugurated during the visit, including a new football ground, wet canteen, Joint Control Room, ‘She Box’ Women’s Help Desk, Kendriya Kalyan Bhandar Canteen, and enhancements to the Subsidiary Police Hospital Zewan. A special Darbar was held with the jawans, during which service-related concerns were raised. The ADGP issued immediate directions for resolution of several issues. He also emphasised the importance of hygiene, urging for regular cleanliness drives and routine medical check-ups. The ADGP conducted a comprehensive inspection of infrastructure across the complex, including administrative blocks, barracks, mess facilities, motor transport fleet, and stores. He urged officers to remain alert in view of the forthcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 and stressed the adoption of the e-office system to improve operational efficiency and reduce paper usage.
