Jammu, May 19: Apni Party Provincial President Manjit Singh has demanded adequate compensation for the families who suffered human and material losses during the recent shelling at the Line of Control (LoC).
He expressed grave concern over the lack of facilities and essential infrastructure at the District Hospital Poonch. He urged the government to ensure that the hospital receives all necessary medical facilities and equipment to provide better healthcare services to patients.
According to a press release issued here, Singh, along with several senior party leaders, visited Poonch today to meet the families who suffered loss of life and property during the recent shelling from across the border by the Pakistani Army.
Apni Party leaders met the bereaved family of martyr Amarjeet Singh, who lost his life after being struck by a mortar shell fired from across the border.
“He was the nephew of Sardar Surjan Singh, Apni Party’s District General Secretary for Poonch. The leaders expressed their grief and sorrow over this irreparable loss,” the party said.
The leaders also visited the families of Amrik Singh, Ranjit Singh, Qari Mohammad Iqbal and conveyed their unwavering solidarity with the family in these challenging times.
Based on first-hand feedback from locals, Manjit Singh said, “It is unfortunate that the district hospital, where the victims were taken after being hit by shells, lacks proper medical facilities and essential infrastructure. Shockingly, the hospital doesn’t even have a single ventilator for patients. I strongly urge the government to take immediate action to equip the hospital with adequate medical resources and infrastructure.”
The Apni Party leader demanded that the families who suffered human and material losses in the recent shelling be provided with adequate compensation, and that government jobs be given to the next of kin of those who lost their lives.
