Srinagar , May 16: A joint delegation of graduate engineers led by the President of the Jammu & Kashmir Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) and the President of the Jammu & Kashmir Mechanical Engineering Graduates Association (JKMEGA) called upon the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Srinagar.
During the meeting, the delegation brought to the fore several long-pending and critical issues affecting the engineering fraternity of implementation & issuance of SRO of Assured career progression (ACP) for Engineers .
In a detailed and focused discussion with the Chief Minister, the delegation emphasized that the implementation of the ACP scheme is not just long overdue but essential to address the chronic stagnation faced by engineers—largely due to limited sanctioned posts at senior levels such as Executive Engineer, Superintending Engineer, and Chief Engineer. The lack of progression opportunities has severely impacted the morale of the fraternity.
The delegation urged the to HCM to expedite the implementation of ACP, which would serve as a long-awaited measure of justice and significantly boost the morale of engineers, ultimately contributing to enhanced efficiency and public service delivery.
The delegation paid special thanks to Advisor to the Chief Minister , Jenab Nasir Aslam wani for his kind presence & acknowledgement of issue with full support for redressal gave and commitment to taking immediate steps toward the implementation of the ACP scheme and review of cadre in Jal Shakti department for both civil and Mechanical , placements and recruitment of all vacant posts.
