Srinagar, May 12: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, also known as Buddha Jayanti, which marks the birth of Prince Siddharta Gautama, known as the Buddha, who founded Buddhism.
Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari wrote on his X handle: “On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, I extend greetings to the people, especially to those who celebrate this occasion with deep devotion and reverence.”
He further said, “This day commemorates the birth of Lord Gautama Buddha and reminds us of his timeless teachings and values — peace, compassion, and enlightenment. His message continues to inspire humanity to follow the path of non-violence, selfless service, and righteous living.”
He prayed, “May this special day bring peace and prosperity to Jammu and Kashmir, and well-being to all its people. Happy Buddha Purnima!”
