Jammu, May 12: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Monday that India has avenged the recent Pahalgam terror attack with Operation Sindoor, a precision strike by its Armed Forces that targeted and destroyed terror infrastructure across the border,
Saying that India will never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the LG visited families displaced by cross-border shelling at the Sahib Bandgi Ashram shelter in Mishriwala, and paid heartfelt tributes to BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham and civilian Zakir Hussain, who lost their lives during the unprovoked Pakistani aggression.
“The entire nation stands in solidarity with the affected families,” the LG said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring their safety, security, and rehabilitation. He interacted with displaced families, listened to their concerns, and assured them of continued administrative support.
Speaking on the recent escalation, LG Sinha said, “India has always advocated for peace and never seeks war. But what happened in Pahalgam was an act of war by the terror state Pakistan. With Operation Sindoor, we have avenged Pahalgam. I am proud of our brave soldiers and armed forces.”
He further emphasized that the operation, conducted on the night of May 6–7, demonstrated both precision and restraint. “Our Armed Forces have made it unequivocally clear: any threat to our people will be met with a response so decisive that it will be remembered by seven generations of Pakistan.”
Reiterating India’s unwavering stance, he said, “India will never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We are resolved to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem operating in Jammu and Kashmir.”
The Lieutenant Governor also announced that new bunkers would be constructed in vulnerable areas based on updated threat assessments to protect civilians from future hostilities.
Later in the day, LG Sinha visited the home of Zakir Hussain, a resident of Kheri village who was killed during Pakistan’s shelling. Offering condolences, he assured the bereaved family of all necessary assistance from the administration.
He also paid tribute to BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham, who was injured in unprovoked firing along the International Border in the R.S. Pura sector on May 10 and succumbed to his injuries the next day. In a post on social media platform X, the LG wrote:
“I salute the brave son of Mother India, BSF’s Constable Deepak Chingakham, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. We share the grief of his family and stand in solidarity.”
The LG also expressed gratitude to the individuals and organizations extending support to those affected by the shelling and reiterated the administration’s focus on long-term security and care for the displaced families.
