Srinagar, May 10: J&K Minister Javed Ahmed Rana has welcomed the immediate ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, reiterating his longstanding and consistent stance and demand for averting wars.
While advocating for composite bilateral dialogue between the two nations to resolve all outstanding issues, Rana has questioned the reference by US Secretary of State on X platform of a third-party intervention and talks at neutral venues without concrete assurances against cross-border terrorism.
As a popular politician from the Pir Panjal Region of Jammu and Kashmir who has been a staunch and principled opponent of war, Rana has expressed deep concern about the plight of the people living in the region, particularly those residing along the Line of Control (LoC).
He has emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution to the bilateral issues, considering the long-term impact on the local population.
Rana paid rich tributes to the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the conflict and the armed forces personnel who made supreme sacrifices.
Expressing confidence in national leadership, he hoped that bilateral issues as well as the menace of cross border terrorism will be resolved peacefully through dialogue and diplomacy.
Rana’s statement highlights his strong urge and longing for addressing the humanitarian concerns of the people living in the border regions and finding a lasting solution to the India-Pakistan conflict, especially the issue of cross border terrorism.
