The national resolve to crush the evil of terrorism is non-negotiable and this resolve has reached a new level with the Pahalgam carnage in which tourists from the various parts of India were martyred. The nation is brewing with anger and wants revenge for the innocent killings. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a key security review meeting in the wake of the Pahalgam massacre has clearly said on Tuesday that the armed forces have the complete operational freedom to decide on the mode, targets and time of the response. The Prime Minister has underlined that it is our national resolve to deal a crushing blow to terrorism. This message was delivered during the meeting. This meeting was attended by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chief of the Defence Staff general Anil Chauhan. The nation is in no mood to forgive the adversary this time as the magnitude and intent of the massacre is tremendous. Besides with the execution of the Pahalgam massacre, Pakistan has intensified the ceasefire violation on borders. This is indeed a matter of grave concern and as such there is a need to give free hand to the armed forces to neutralise the nefarious designs of Pakistan and the Prime Minister has rightly done so.In the merging situation, Pakistan is giving every reason to India to retaliate. Instead of closing the terrorist camps and patronage to the terrorists, it is crossing the red line and then indulging in plausible deniability. Imposition of a heavy cost is the only solution to end the belligerent policy of Pakistan towards India. It has failed to annex Jammu and Kashmir as many times it has tried. Indian Armed Forces have always taken the wind out of its sails. Still it wants to indulge in the game of bellicosity. It is a declared policy to increase hostility towards India whenever it faces domestic problems at various levels besides the political stalemate. This time it wants to take the international gaze away from the human rights violations in Balochistan. It is pertinent to mention that Balochis are demanding freedom from Pakistan. The international convergence of Balochis has unnerved Pakistan who are openly accusing Pakistan of human rights violation and rendering Balochistan into a Chinese colony at the behest of Pakistan. Balochis are demanding the right to self-determination and redressal of the human rights violations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already shown India’s solidarity with the people of Balochistan a few years ago. Pahalgam carnage can be a game changer when it comes to showing Pakistan its place. Dismal human rights, patronage of terrorism as the state policy are the parameters that go against Pakistan at the international level. It has emerged as the rogue state that thrives on the human rights violations and uses terrorist organisations at the extended arm of its military strategy so that it has the option of plausible deniability. But that too is getting exhausted. It boasts of the Chinese support. But the modus operandi of its international policy and statecraft will even restrict China from supporting Pakistan openly when it comes to the issue of terror patronage. After all, China too has been facing the menace of radical religious extremism. In the days to come the lines will be drawn as to what will be the standard mode of response to Pakistan from India. India has already started the calibrated response to Pakistan’s policy of using asymmetrical war to inflict damage on India by targeting its citizens by using religious terrorism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a clear message that the Indian Armed Forces are prepared to decimate the terrorists and their operatives and they have the operational freedom to uphold the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Indian nation.
