Srinagar Apr 13: A delegation of senior Congress leaders and district presidents, on the directions of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra, visited nomad victim families at Qazigund in Kulgam district on Sunday and expressed solidarity and condolences with them.
Led by senior Congress leader Abdul Gani Khan, the delegation comprising Dr Waleed Karra, DCC presidents of Kulgam and Anantnag, Abdul Rashid Lone, Zaffar Farooq Salati and others visited Qazigund to meet the nomad families who lost their family members under mysterious circumstances.
The delegation expressed grave concern over the loss of their family members, terming it as shocking and very unfortunate. “Such incidents lead to fear psychosis among the public and make them feel insecure, which is absolutely disappointing and needs to be addressed,” the delegation, according to a statement issued here, said.
They demanded a time-bound investigation to ascertain whether these were killings or natural deaths. “The administration must provide compensation to widows of the deceased and ensure justice to them,” they said.
The delegation members also conveyed condolences to bereaved families on behalf of JKPCC Chief Karra, assuring them that the Congress party stands behind them and will put in strenuous efforts to ensure justice for them.
