Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: GHSS Berreru- Doda organises Kho-Kho competition

Doda, March 29: The District Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services and Sports Saturday organised a Girls Kho-Kho competition at Government Higher Secondary School Berreru, Zone Bhalla here under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 90 girls representing different educational insti-tutions and Panchayats of the zone. The sports competition aimed to promote physical fitness and foster teamwork, discipline and leadership qualities among the girls.
The initiative underlined the crucial role sports play in breaking gender stereotypes and motivating girls to actively participate in extracurricular activities alongside academics. Speaking on the occasion, DYSSO Pritam Singh and Tehsil Officer from the Social Welfare Department Bhaderwah Babu Ram, highlighted the significance of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme in achieving gender equality and girls’ education. They stressed the need for continued efforts to create awareness and provide platforms to girls to showcase their talent in different fields, including sports and academics.
The event concluded with the felicitation of winners and participants, encouraging them to pursue their dreams fearlessly. The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift and empower girls, ensuring their holistic development in society.
