Jammu, Mar 26: Taking cognisance of the drinking water crisis caused by the strike of daily wagers in the Jal Shakti PHE Department, MLA Akhnoor, Mohan Lal inspected various pumping stations and water supply projects across the constituency on Wednesday. He directed the department’s permanent staff to ensure an adequate supply of drinking water to the public.
During his visit to the main pumping station of Akhnoor town, he issued instructions to ensure proper water supply to all 13 wards of the town. He further emphasized that if necessary, permanent employees should work double shifts to ensure adequate water supply to the people.
The MLA also held a meeting with the department’s XEN, Assistant Executive Engineers, and other officials to review the water supply system. Expressing displeasure over the lack of detailed information regarding water supply through tankers, he directed that the supply process should be transparent and properly recorded.
While addressing the media, the MLA expressed his support for the daily wagers, stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party stands with them. He assured that he would raise their issues from the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to the Prime Minister if needed.
Following this, MLA Mohan Lal visited pumping stations and water supply projects in areas like Parmana Chhappar, Sungal, Karangi, and Sohal. He was accompanied by Jal Shakti PHE Department’s XEN Rocky Mahajan, Assistant Executive Engineer Rajiv Kumar, AEE Vishal Khajuria, Anil Sharma, Vinay Sapolia, Vishal Sangral, Abhishek Verma, Suresh Kumar, Sandeep, Ashwani Sharma, Ganesh Sharma, Shamsher Das, Jagdish Singh, and other officials.
