Ganderbal, Feb 13: KVK Ganderbal kickstarted Existing Management Development Programme (E-MDP) on Fodder Processing Technologies: entrepreneurship avenues in Animal Feed Industry.
This one-week programme is being conducted in association with Directorate of Planning and Monitoring (SKUAST-K) and has been sponsored by Ministry of MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), Government of India. Ministry of MSME envisions a progressive MSME sector by promoting growth and development. These programmes are being conducted throughout Kashmir under the patronage of Prof. Nazir A. Ganai Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, Prof. Haroon R Naik (Director Research, Director Planning and Monitoring and Nodal officer MSME) and Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdomi (Director Extension- SKUAST-K).
The aim of the EMDP is to popularize new technologies in fodder processing as an income generating avenue for the rural youth and inculcate culture of startups among them. At the outset, Dr. Shaheen Farooq welcomed the participants and gave a brief overview of the programme. Dr. Ishfaq Abidi, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Ganderbal emphasized the adoption of new technologies & interventions for producing quality fodder and expressed hope that the training will transform the youth into successful entrepreneurs.
Twenty-five educated youth of the District have enrolled for the programme. The programme is set to continue for seven days and the participants will be given lectures in areas like fodder production, quality improvement, conservation & hydroponics. Prominent experts from various Divisions of FVSC & AH have been invited to deliver lectures and handhold participants for skill development in fodder processing technologies. Besides, exposure visits to various business & demonstration units like MLRI Manasbal, Regional Fodder Station & Division of Animal Nutrition Shuhama will also be conducted. The participants expressed gratitude for the programme and vowed to take maximum benefit from all the technical sessions and field visits.
