Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore recovered consignment of illicit timber from village Laiser Rafiabad in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha.
A Police spokesperson said that acting on specific information regarding illicit timber consignment and accordingly, a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha and Police Post Watergam alongwith officials of forest department, conducted raid at the specific location. During the raid, police party recovered a total of 12.59 Square feet of illicit timber from the spot. The accused involved in the crime has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Sadiq Rather resident of Laiser Rafiabad.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 14/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation is underway.
