New Delhi, Jan 37: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MLA from Bahu Constituency, Vikram Randhawa on Monday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of depriving the people of Delhi of free medical treatment under the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which provides financial cover of up to Rs 5 lakh for the treatment of the poor and underprivileged.
Randhawa, who is actively campaigning in Delhi for the upcoming Assembly elections, addressed public meetings at different places of Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment, campaigning in favour of Party Candidate S. Arvinder Singh Lovely at Kanti Nagar area of Azad Nagar Mandal.
The BJP leader accused Delhi’s AAP government of deliberately blocking the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, thereby depriving lakhs of needy citizens of free-of-cost treatment. He asserted that while people across the country are benefitting from the scheme, Delhiites continue to suffer due to AAP’s petty politics.
“Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, crores of Indians have received free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat. However, AAP government has betrayed the people of Delhi by refusing to implement the scheme. The AAP government has no concern for the health of its citizens,” he said.
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Randhawa emphasised that the BJP is committed to providing free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh to the people of Delhi. He cited Prime Minister Narendra Mod’s assurance that once the BJP forms the government in Delhi, an additional Rs 5 lakh will be provided, ensuring that poor and middle-class families have access to quality healthcare without financial burden.
“Arvind Kejriwal has denied the people of Delhi their basic right to health. The BJP will ensure that every Delhiite gets access to free and quality healthcare, including surgeries and advanced treatments. Once you remove ‘AAP-da’ and bring BJP to power, we will implement a robust health system that caters to all,” Randhawa asserted.
Hitting out at Kejriwal, the MLA accused AAP of playing dirty politics at the cost of public welfare. He said the Delhi government misleads people with its so-called “free schemes” while denying them life-saving benefits offered by the Centre.
“AAP government has built a false narrative around healthcare, while in reality, they have failed miserably. Delhi deserves better, and BJP is the only party that can truly fulfill the aspirations of its people,” he said.
Randhawa urged Delhi people to vote wisely and elect a BJP government that prioritises development, healthcare, and welfare over propaganda. He assured that under PM Modi’s leadership, Delhi will witness a new era of prosperity, where no family will suffer due to lack of medical aid.
