Arun Malhotra achieves milestone with AFC B-Diploma Coaching Course

Jammu, Jan 19: Arun Malhotra, a former Indian footballer and current Technical Committee member of the All-India Football Federation (AIFF), has reached a remarkable milestone in his coaching journey by successfully completing the prestigious Asian Football Confederation (AFC) B-Diploma Coaching Course.
The course, organised by ARA FC in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was conducted in two modules from September 26 to October 4, 2024, and December 9 to December 17, 2024. The course was led by Shakti Chauhan, a Pro License holder and former coach of the Indian Women’s U-16 National Team. The program aimed to provide participants with advanced coaching techniques, preparing them to enhance the development of football at grassroots and professional levels.
Expressing his gratitude for the invaluable experience, Arun highlighted his dedication to the growth of football, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). He emphasised his passion for the sport and his long-term vision of establishing football academies and clubs in J&K to foster young talent. Arun believes that this course has equipped him with the essential skills and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to youth football in J&K and improve the overall coaching standards.
In addition to his coaching achievements, Arun was recently honoured with the prestigious Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta Khel Ratan Award on December 17, 2024, by the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, in recognition of his significant contributions to sports. Arun expressed his deep appreciation to ONGC, J&K, and AIFF for their unwavering support in enabling him to pursue higher-level coaching programs. He acknowledged that their encouragement has been pivotal in allowing him to take this important step in his coaching career and further his commitment to the development of football in J&K. With this accomplishment, Arun is set to make an even greater impact on the future of football in J&K, driving initiatives that aim to nurture and develop the next generation of football talent.
