Labour Commissioner, J&K, Charandeep Singh Tuesday took a comprehensive review of the functioning of the Labour Department in a meeting with officers here.

Charandeep Singh, who recently assumed charge as Labour Commissioner, emphasised the need to reach out to the Labourers and generate awareness among them regarding various welfare schemes being implemented for their benefit.

“We need to reach out to workers in both the organized and the un-organised sector and facilitate them in availing benefits under various schemes of the Government and to also ensure that any grievance arising between labour and the management of establishments are settled amicably as per labour laws”, he said adding that disposal of Labour court cases under payment of wages, compensation and gratuity also needs to be fast tracked across all districts.
