SKUAST-K rolls out achievements, future vision

Felicitates achievers on New Year, unveils book featuring 48 patents developed by university

Srinagar, Jan 02: The New Year celebration at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKAUST) Kashmir Thursday showcased the university’s achievements and future vision.
The event was attended by the Directors, Deans, Registrar, and Heads of Divisions, Scientists, non-teaching staff and students of the university, highlighting the collective spirit of collaboration at SKUAST-K. The event saw the release of the IP Suite, a book that features 48 patents developed by the university’s faculty and researchers. The latest issue of Agri-talk, the university newsletter was also released on the occasion. The celebration also included the unveiling of the university’s calendar and diary for the year 2025, which symbolizes new beginnings and goals of the institution.
The event also saw launch of several startups incubated by the Sher-e-Kashmir Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKIIE). These startups are a testament to the university’s growing focus on fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Along with the launch, products developed by these startups were showcased, reflecting SKUAST-K’s dedication to translating research into practical, market-driven solutions, especially in the field of agriculture.
The event also featured an inspiring address by the Vice Chancellor, Prof.Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who applauded the efforts of the university’s staff for their unwavering dedication and hard work in propelling SKUAST-K to the forefront of agricultural education and innovation. Prof.Nazir Ahmad Ganai acknowledged the collective contributions of the faculty, researchers, and staff in advancing the university’s mission and enhancing its reputation on a national scale. He emphasized the importance of continued excellence and innovation in ensuring the university’s growth and impact in the coming years. Additionally, he reiterated the need for making the Union Territory (UT) sustainable in every sphere to ensure a prosperous future for generations to come, reinforcing the vital role of research and technology in this mission.
The event also recognized the scientists and staff who have contributed significantly to the university’s progress. Achiever of the Year Awards were presented to faculty, staff and researchers for their outstanding contributions in areas such as innovation, academics, research, startup development. In addition to the awards, scientists and staff members were presented with certificates for their exceptional efforts, further honoring their dedication to the institution’s mission. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Masood Saleem Mir, Associate Director of Extension.
