Jammu, Dec 29: In the 117th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed various topics of national importance, including the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution, the Maha Kumbh Mela, and the remarkable strides India is making in diverse fields such as health, sports, and creative industries.
Addressing the 117th episode and last ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode of 2024, PM Modi said, “On January 26, 2025, our Constitution will complete 75 years of its implementation. It is a matter of great pride for all of us. The Constitution handed over to us by our Constitution makers has stood the test of time. The Constitution is a guiding light for us, our guide. To connect the citizens of the country with the legacy of the Constitution, a special website named http://constitution75.com has been created. India marked a milestone on November 26, 2024, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India. On this day in 1949, the Indian Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution, which came into force on January 26, 1950, establishing India as a democratic republic. In 2015, the Government of India designated November 26 as Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) to honour the adoption of the Constitution. Since then, the nation has celebrated this occasion annually.
The Prime minister said several activities related to sports and fitness are being organised across the country. “I am happy that people are making fitness a part of their daily routine,” he said.
“From Skiing in Kashmir to kite flying in Gujarat, enthusiasm for sports can be seen everywhere. Campaigns like #SundayOnCycle and #CyclingTuesday are promoting cycling,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister proudly announced two significant health achievements: India’s success in reducing malaria cases by 80% and the increasing timely cancer treatments, thanks to the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. He lauded the collective effort of citizens and health workers in combating these health challenges, asserting that awareness, action, and assurance are key to defeating diseases like cancer.
Turning to the entertainment and creative industries, Modi congratulated India’s filmmakers and artists for their contribution to the global entertainment landscape. He celebrated the success of the animated series KTB – Bharat Hain Hum and its second season, which showcases lesser-known heroes of India’s freedom struggle. The show has been gaining popularity in multiple languages, both within India and internationally.
The Prime Minister concluded his address by expressing his optimism for the year ahead. “In 2025, with the collective strength of every citizen, India will continue to soar to new heights,” he affirmed.
