PDP welcomes Khursheed Alam as General Secretary

Srinagar, Dec 23: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (JKPDP) on Monday officially welcomed its newly appointed General Secretary, Khursheed Alam, along with District Presidents Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, and Zahoor Ahmed, at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
The event saw a significant gathering of senior leaders, district presidents, and party colleagues who came together to felicitate the appointees on their new responsibilities.
In his address, Khursheed Alam expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to collective efforts for public welfare. “Together, we will uplift the PDP and make it the true voice of the people’s aspirations,” he said.
Abdul Rehman Veeri, Chairman of the Parliamentary Board, praised PDP President Mehbooba Mufti for her “farsightedness” and “strategic decisions.” He expressed optimism that these leadership choices would prove transformative for the party’s future.
Highlighting Alam’s extensive experience and leadership capacity, Veeri said his appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the PDP, strengthening its foundation and vision for public service.
The meeting was attended by prominent leaders, including Mohit Bhan, Arif Laigroo, Zuhaib Mir, Touseef Shah, Bashir Beigh and Syed Tajamul among others.
