Baramulla, Dec 14: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa Saturday convened a meeting to discuss key projects under the Dharti Aaba Janjatya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JUGA), aimed at the holistic development of tribal areas in the district.
The projects discussed during the meeting focused on enhancing infrastructure and providing better living conditions for students and tribal communities in the district.
Key initiatives include the construction of a 50-bedded Tribal Hostel at Government Degree College Baramulla, which will provide comfortable accommodation for students, complete with bathroom facilities and a common kitchen. Additionally, the upgradation of existing girls’ and boys’ hostels at Rangwar and Khojabag was highlighted to improve the living standards for students.
A major emphasis was placed on the renovation and repair of Tribal Hostels and KGBVs across Baramulla, ensuring the accommodation of tribal students is significantly enhanced. The establishment of a post-graduate hostel at the North Campus of Baramulla is another vital project aimed at supporting higher education students in the region.
