Jammu, Dec 08: Dr. Ajay Chrungoo, Chairman of Panun Kashmir, has strongly condemned the ongoing persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh and the government’s passive stance towards the situation.
Addressing the press conference, Dr. Chrungoo expressed alarm over the increasing genocidal attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh and urged the Government of India (GoI) to act and not remain a mute spectator to the rising tide of violence. He asserted that India’s inaction would lead to the country being perceived as a weak republic on the global stage, unable to defend its own citizens and global Hindu populations.
“The ongoing genocidal campaign against Hindus in Bangladesh is no longer just an internal matter of Bangladesh,” Dr. Chrungoo stated. “It is a direct affront to the State of India and constitutes acts of war against Hindus worldwide. If India fails to act, it will send a dangerous message that the country cannot protect its people, both within its borders and beyond.”
Dr. Chrungoo outlined the growing threat posed by Bangladesh, which, in his view, is rapidly transforming into a hostile state akin to East Pakistan, now a hotbed for Jihad against India. He also drew attention to other nations in India’s immediate neighborhood, such as the Maldives and Nepal, where anti-India sentiment has been on the rise.
He further criticized the Government of India for its historical response to genocidal events, pointing to the denial of the Kashmir Hindu genocide. “The Government of India has failed to acknowledge both the Jihad and the Hindu genocide in Kashmir, which has contributed to the spread of similar threats across India,” Dr. Chrungoo remarked.
Panun Kashmir called for urgent intervention from the Indian government to prevent the situation in Bangladesh from deteriorating further. Dr. Chrungoo emphasized the need for the Indian government to act decisively to prevent Bangladesh from becoming a dictatorship and a refuge for those perpetrating the genocide of Hindus.
The Panun Kashmir leader urged the Indian government to take a firm stand on the protection of Hindus worldwide. “This is the time for India to demonstrate its commitment to internal security and foreign policy that prioritizes the protection of Hindus from persecution, both within India and globally,” he added. “We also demand the enactment of a law to prevent and punish genocide.”
“India cannot afford to remain a passive observer. If the government does not act, it will damage the nation’s standing on the world stage,” he said.
